Young Actors Theatre

Newfields welcomes the Young Actors Theatre (YAT) back for its second year of imaginative and family-friendly shows written and devised by YAT teacher-directors and their students.

  • Pied Piper: A Self-Acceptance Story

The piper has saved the city, but at what cost? When the piper is not paid for his work, he decides to take revenge by playing a song that will lead every child in the city away—except one, who becomes the key to setting things right. This futuristic adaptation of a classic tale brings an inspiring message to audiences—the things that make you different can make you stronger—in a production worthy of the name Self-Empowerment Theatre.

  • Like & Subscribe: A Bullying Story

When a student starts a documentary about their classroom, their followers don’t seem interested. But when they upload a video of a girl falling out of her seat, it goes viral. What happens when this documentarian works with the school bully to stage more scenes? Can they learn to change their ways before it goes too far? Join us for a Self-Empowerment Theatre journey that explores the all-too-real world of classroom bullying.
