Member Preview: Life and Legacy: Portraits from the Clowes Collection
11 am-8pm

Members get the first look at Life and Legacy: Portraits from the Clowes Collection. Curators Annette D. Schlagenhauff and Kjell M. Wangensteen, will provide an in-depth look at the portraits collected by Dr. George H. A. Clowes and Edith Clowes. The Clowes Collection is among the finest collections of European art in the Midwest, and includes masterpieces such as Rembrandt’s early self-portrait (about 1629). Over the next two years, the IMA is undertaking the first major renovation of the Clowes Pavilion since it opened in 1972.

The preservation, study, presentation, and interpretation of works in the Clowes Collection is supported by The Clowes Fund and The Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation.
