Book Club: The Evening Crowd at Kirmser’s
1–3 pm

Ricardo J. Brown’s memoir, The Evening Crowd at Kirmser’s, takes you to an underground gay bar in St. Paul, Minnesota in the 1940s in a rare look at pre-Stonewall queer culture in the Midwest. Brown introduces readers to his life and companions, presenting a very different view of queer culture far from that of the metropolitan world depicted in the current exhibition Sensual/Sexual/Social: The Photography of George Platt Lynes.
